Is it just me or does it seem like it has been winter FOREVER? We have over a foot of snow on the ground and have been adding an inch or so every day for a week. Since the weather has been so gross I’ve been spending most of my time at home, and have found several new favorites for this less-than-favorite season.

In my Fall Favorites post I categorized things, so I am going to follow the same format for this one!

Winter Favorites

winter favoritesAnastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Eyeshadow Palette – I drastically minimized my makeup a while back and have just been using one eyeshadow palette. I saw this Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette on sale and I decided to snag it.

I have weird body chemistry and not many shadows show up with much pigmentation on me, and they fade really quickly, but I LOVE this whole palette! It is so pigmented, the colors go on and blend like a dream, and it has such a nice variation of colors I can create several different looks with it.

I love the Anastasia brow products – the Brow Pomade and Brow Gel are in my daily routine – but this was her first shadow I tried. It definitely won’t be the last!

winter favoritesDermalogica UltraCalming Calm Water Gel – I was actually sent this product for free from Influenster. Now, to be clear, they don’t require or even ask me to write about it here on the blog so the only reason I am mentioning it is because I love it!

I am getting to the age where I need some extra hydration for my skin, but I also have extremely sensitive skin. Basically when I find something moisturizing enough, it’s too heavy for my skin and I break out. This stuff is so hydrating it’s almost like a night time treatment, yet doesn’t break me out whatsoever! Love! I will definitely be repurchasing this one, at least through the winter months.

winter favoritesThe Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning -I haven’t been reading quite as voraciously as usual. I’ve had plenty of time since I had bronchitis for SIX WEEKS, but I just wasn’t in the mood. I did get through a few books though, and there is one I just have to share with you.

The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning may sound a tad morbid, but it is hands down the best book I have read on decluttering. It is a short little guide written by an elderly Swedish woman. She talks about the Swedish tradition of döstädning. Literally death cleaning. All of us are going to die at some point, and we need to think about the junk we are leaving our family members to deal with. I found this to be a really enjoyable read, in spite of the title. She offers a lot of wisdom on what’s important in life, and even shares some of her cherished recipes at the end. I borrowed this from my library but I am going to buy a copy to permanently have in my personal collection.

winter favoritesI am loving these Erin Condren habit tracker stickers. They are new and you can customize them to whatever you want to track. This saves me so much time in drawing out a habit tracker each week, and I love how neat they look in my planner!winter favorites

Another thing I am really loving in my planners right now are my planner clips from Kelly Eva Designs on Etsy. Not only are these functional so I can flip my traveler’s notebook open to the specific, most-used sections, they are super cute! The bottom of these are a big paper clip, so they would work in any type of planner.

winter favoritesHave you ever seen a video of how straws affect wildlife? Once I saw a video where they had to pry a straw out of the nose of a sea turtle. Right then and there I decided that we were DONE with plastic straws. I ordered this set of stainless steel straws, and I love them! I actually much prefer drinking out of these vs. a plastic one.

My husband doesn’t really share my environmental concerns.  I am still training him to decline straws and use one of these. I may buy a second set so he can keep some in his car to make it easier. You don’t have to be a radical tree hugger to make small changes that add up to a big difference!

winter favoritesIf you have followed me for awhile you know I am obsessed with Republic of Tea’s Orange Ginger Mint. winter favoritesWell, I ran out of it and decided I should use up my stash before I buy any more. Pineapple Kona Pop was my fave for a LONG time, and I had a ton of it in the cupboard so I have been drinking that almost exclusively. It smells SO good and has a nice, light, fruity pop. I like to add a slice of lemon to it.

I am finally kicking bronchitis after SIX WEEKS, so I have been drinking a ton of this tea. My daughter also got me this mug for Christmas.  It might be the best Christmas present I have ever received.

What are the things you are digging this season?
