Wow, how are we cruising through summer this quickly? This has been such a season of ups and downs for me it has just flown by. I thought I would read a TON during quarantine, but it has been hard to get into that mindset. Recently I read These Nameless Things by Shawn Smucker and finally finished a book!
These Nameless Things By Shawn Smucker
If you’ve followed me for a while you’ve seen me mention this author before. Shawn Smucker’s latest book is another page turner! This is technically a YA novel, but will appeal to anyone who like well-written fiction with a nod to the style of C.S. Lewis.
These Nameless Things is a mysterious story about Dan who, with a ragtag group of survivors, escaped torturous capture on a mountain. The caveat? He had to leave his brother behind. He watches day after day hoping his brother will escape as well, but could never expect the twists and turns his journey would take.
I thought this might be too heavy of a read for me, considering everything thats going on in my life, but it was actually a great distraction! If you’re looking for your next summer read, I highly recommend it.
