My teenager is about ready to enter the world as an adult, and I don’t find myself worrying about academics and finances nearly as much as I worry about the kind of world I am sending her into. Have I really pointed her onto the right path? As a grown adult it can be difficult to find time to get my devotional in every day, so when my daughter asked for a devotion she could do I was so happy to find Jesus Calling for Teens by Sarah Young.
Jesus Calling: 50 Devotions To Grow In Your Faith features beautiful imagery, short devotions, and suggested Bible reading to help teens nourish and grow in their faith. Like the other Jesus Calling devotionals, this is written as though it is from Jesus’ perspective. This devotion touches on a lot of different topics from creation, to faith, to speaking kindly. It would make a really nice gift as graduation approaches!
Jesus Calling: 50 Devotions for Busy Days is very similar in imagery and length, but focuses on resting in the calm presence of Jesus in the midst of the whirlwind that teenage life can bring. If your teen tends to worry, or is burning the candle at both ends this would be a great devotion to reassure them.
Both of these devotions are small enough to toss into a purse or book bag, and have an inscription page for easy gifting. My teen was really excited when I handed these over, and I think yours will be as well!
