2020 has been a rough year, and you’d think that would make me lean on my faith more than ever. But in reality, I’ve let the busyness and stress of life distract me and pull me away from my prayer and devotion habits. It’s something I’ve been really convicted about lately, so today I am sharing 3 ways too grow your faith.
3 Ways To Grow Your Faith
Daily Bible Reading
It sounds simple it should be a no-brainer, but daily Bible reading is one of the most easily overlooked waist grow your faith. The Word is a primary way that God speaks to us, so if we aren’t opening it up ourselves on a very regular basis, how can we hope to stay connected?

My best Bible reading habits happen when I pull out my Bible, my pen, and my highlighters first thing in the morning. I read a chapter or two, highlight what speaks to me, then read the Matthew Henry commentary on it. I have learned so many new things this way, even from passages I have read a hundred times before. The Word of God is living, don’t sit it down just because you feel like you’ve already read it.
Prayer Journal
It’s so important that we listen for God’s communication with us, but also important that we communicate back. Prayer is something I have always struggled with, but a tool I have found to be immensely helpful is a prayer journal. When someone mentions a prayer request I jot it down to read through later in my prayer time. If my mind starts to wander, it’s helpful for me to write down what I am praying about.

I keep mine in this pocket-sized traveler’s notebook because it’s small, portable, and easy to throw in my bag. I use Moleskine or Field Notes so those little notebooks are easy to take out and stick in a pocket, too.

We are fortunate to live in a world where there are endless resources to inspire and educate us on our faith. A neat one that I recently came across is the film Before The Wrath.

This film is a lot different format than many other Christian films I have seen. It is a deep-dive into what the Bible and Biblical scholars say about the rapture. It doesn’t just ask the question WHEN, but also WHY.
I watched this with my boyfriend, who is MUCH more knowledgable about theology than I am, and we both thought it was interesting and very well done. It’s one that I want to watch again, but with a notebook so I can take notes!

I hope this has inspired you and given you some ideas to get proactive and start being intentional with your faith. Not only do we need to cling to our faith more than ever, the world desperately needs to be shown an example of hope! Let this be the time you stop worrying and start working on ways to grow your faith.
