When I was a child I had the Bible crammed down my throat. When I had my own child I decided to let her make up her own mind, and didn’t expose her to a lot of religion or Christianity. And then I got saved. And then she got saved. And I started navigating the murky waters of trying to raise her in a Christian home, and teach her the Bible.
At 13 years old I had read the entire Bible and could quote many, many verses by heart. My 13-year-old doesn’t know the books of the Bible, let alone have passages memorized. So when I heard about the Wisdomantics game, I was instantly interested.
Wisdomantics is an interactive DVD board game that is based on the book of Proverbs. 2-4 players answer fill-in-the-blank questions based on verses from proverbs. The object of the game is to collect tiles that represent various types of wood that you place on your temple card. When eachsquare is filled in with the appropriate type of wood, you have built Solomon’s temple. The first player to do so wins.
We were able to play through the game in less than 30 minutes, but I credit that to my amazing Bible trivia skills.
I was expecting this game to be pretty cheesy, but I was pleasantly surprised that it is well put together, and pretty fun even for a grinch like me. The only part I could have done without is Solomon throwing his hands up and shouting “Hallelujah!” every time someone gets a correct answer. I have kids who repeat things, Solomon.
When my husband got home from work my daughter made him play it with her too. Its great to see her so excited to play something that is actually teaching her Bible verses and Biblical truths.
I wasnt given any purchasing information for this game, but after a quick search I found that you can purchase it here for $29.99. Its hard to find family activity for older kids, especially one that is Biblically based, so if you have kids 12+, or just want a wholesome adult activity, this may fit the bill.
I am also giving a copy of this game away! Enter below, and feel free to share this giveaway.
