I love journals and notebooks. And paper. And pens. And markers. And stamps. Hi, my name is Melissa and it has been 4 days since I bought an art supply. I never met a journal or pen I didn’t like.
I have been wanting to start keeping a daily recap journal of some sort, but hadn’t stumbled across a setup that I really liked. Then one day on Instagram I saw a project that Planner Friend had started. She was using Project Life cards to write notes for her son, but a light bulb went on! This would be perfect for a fun, but abbreviated, way to recap my day!
I have never gotten into Project Life, so I didn’t have any cards. I was going to pick some up at the craft store, but I discovered these We R Memory Keepers cards at a much better price. I used some of my planner stamps, and a little washi to accent.
My plan is to find or make a small box to keep this in so I can sort them by year, but for now this basket fits them perfectly. I may change up the style of journaling, but for now I am just jotting down some things that made up the general gist of my day, what the weather was like, and what we had for dinner. As I have been filling out a card at night, it has been therapeutic; thinking about my day, praying over any issues that may have surfaced.
I don’t have a lot of time to journal, so the quickness of this method really appeals to me. Plus, between decorating my planner, Bible journaling, and various art projects, I keep track of a lot of other things in different places.
Do you keep a daily journal, or recap of your day? I am including a list of some of my favorite items that I used below!
