My friend Susan from Hope Heart Home has nominated me for a Liebster Award (my auto-correct REALLY wants to call it a lobster award). Susan was a 31 Days blogger and has fostered a close-knit community of those who participated. She has been an incredible encouragement to me both in writing and life.
I have been nominated for this before, but I didn’t qualify based on my number of followers. But, the rules have been given a “31 Days” makeover. i.e. Ain’t nobody got time to be nominating 11 people.
The rules are:
- Thank and link back to the person who nominates you.
- Answer the questions given by the person who nominates you.
- Nominate 5 other bloggers big or small.
- Create 5 new questions for the nominees to answer.
- Let the nominees know they’ve been nominated!
I nominate …
Karrilee from Abiding Love, Abounding Grace
Robyn from Adventurous Life With Christ
Kristin from This Beautiful Holy Mess
Laura from J +W Blog
Rose from Living Life Rosie
If you have been nominated before, or this just doesn’t sound like your bag of tea, feel free to pass. Your questions are at the end of this post.
If you could have been “on the scene” of any event in Jesus’ life here on earth, which one would you choose and why?
I would say when he raises Lazarus from the dead. There is so much humanity in that story, from people complaining that Jesus was opening the tomb because Lazarus would be stinky, to Jesus crying at the loss of his friend, even though he knew he would be raising him from the dead. Plus, if I was friends with Martha I bet she would clean my house for me.
What is your greatest challenge in your everyday walk as a believer?
Becoming complacent. Seriously. People are being beheaded for their faith, and I can’t even stay faithful enough to read my Bible every day, or watch my language.
Rooster or Owl?
Owl. They are so cute! Especially baby owls.
Weekend getaway with one favorite person – beachside or mountain chalet?
Mountain chalet. I have been holed up in a hotel room eating candy for way too long to be seen at a beach.
It’s a snowy weekend. You can’t get out in the car. Do you opt for a good book or good movies?
Book! My husband loves movies, but I can’t usually watch a movie in one sitting. I really drive him crazy when I fast forward through (what I deem as) the boring parts just to see what happens in the end.
So here are the questions for my nominees:
1. What was your first job?
2. Cats or dogs?
3. Favorite book/movie?
4. Favorite Bible verse?
5. The biggest challenge you have overcome?
