I have read the High Five For Friday link up party on the Lauren Elizabeth blog for quite some time, but this is my first time participating!
The basic concept is posting 5 highlights from the week. It makes for some very fun, uplifting posts, so I love browsing all of the entries every Friday. Without further adieu, here are 5 of my highlights from the week
1. New Wine Glasses
One of the kids broke my last stemmed wine glass while trying to “help” put away dishes. Thankfully no one was hurt, and it gave me a great excuse to go and get these glasses that I have been eyeballing for MONTHS at Pier One. I love the soft teal, and they look great hanging in my kitchen! They had several cute styles that I was tempted by, but these NEEDED to come home with me. I also tried a new wine that I actually found at Sam’s Club. It was about $10, which isn’t bad for organic, and it was tasty! Maybe the new glasses made it taste better …
2. Fresh Flowers
One of my wonderful clients brought me this arrangement of sunflowers to welcome me to my new salon. They stayed this vibrant and pretty for an entire week! I know I say it a lot, but I really do have the best clients in the world. The support and friendship they have shown me through this salon move his blown me away.
3. My New Table
I guess I went on a shopping spree at Sam’s this week. I also got myself a little table to sit on my deck so I can do some writing (or even eating) out there! As soon as my husband got it set up on of the kids put their food through my camping chair, so now I am in the market for a comfy, outdoor chair.
4. The Boys Are Back
My step sons are back for the second half of their summer visit! They will be here for the next 4 weeks, and we have a lot of fun stuff planned. So far they have been doing a lot of swimming, and playing with one of their friends that lives in our apartment complex. They add so much life to our house, its scary to think how quiet it will be when they leave. Things like smudgy, hand-printy patio doors used to really bother me, but I smile every day (yes, I wipe them down EVERY SINGLE DAY and they still look like that by the end) thinking about all the wonderful memories the three kids are making with each other.5. Froyo.
My youngest nephew is 15 and recently started working at his first job. He surprised me the other day by inviting me out to lunch on him, but the timing didn’t work out. We settled for a frozen yogurt date instead. I have always been really close with my nephews, but as they have gotten older our lives are busier and busier, and I don’t get to spend nearly as much time with them. It was nice to spend an afternoon together, and maybe next time I can treat him.
So, those are 5 highlights from my week! What are yours?
