The end of the year is a good time to take stock of what worked and what didn’t, and set some intentions for the new year. In December I like to choose a devotional that I am going to work through for the next year. Recently I was given the opportunity to review 3 new Ellie Claire Devotionals and they are perfect for a yearly devotional journal, so I am excited to share them with you!
These three devotionals are considered paperback, but they have a glossy cover that is flexible, yet sturdy, and an elastic closure. Inside each are 365 dated devotions that include a few paragraphs of teaching, verse recommendations, and then room to journal your thoughts and take notes.
Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus begins each devotion with a line from a song or hymn and focuses on glimpses of grace in our busy days. Inside is beautiful with soft florals and pastels. This would be perfect for someone who appreciates creative, beautiful things.
The Earth Is The Lord’s And Everything In It is a nature-inspired devotional journal with peacocks on the cover! As a lover of nature, and of peacock everything this devotional is right up my alley! The inside contains pretty florals and peacocks, and thoughtful devotions exploring God’s creativity in nature.
Peace Begins With Me is a soft aqua devotional journal that inspires tranquility with it unassuming design. This devotional focuses on the peace that God can bring to our tumultuous lives. The back cover has Psalm 85:8 on it, “I will listen to what the Lord says; He promises peace to His people.”
Some features I really like about these devotionals –
- That there is space to journal. I LOVE all-in-one devotions that I can write in. It makes them easier to take on the go, and I find I am more likely to finish them
- Paper quality – these pages even held up to a fountain pen and I only got VERY light ghosting from a dark Mildliner highlighter.
- The covers – I love that they are bend-y, but still sturdy.
If you haven’t chosen a devotion for 2019 I encourage you to check these Ellie Claire Devotional Journals out! They would make a great, useful gift for someone as well!
