Fall is in full swing in my neck of the woods, and the crisper temperatures have inspired me to change our my wardrobe and meal plan for seasonally appropriate choices. Scarves, sweaters, and pumpkin everything!
I have gotten a ton of compliments on my eye makeup from the past few live videos I have done on my social media channels. Granted, I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 19 years, but I am all about quick and easy. Now, you’ve probably seen some fall makeup tutorials floating around, but I find a lot of them aren’t appropriate for someone my age, or they are too time-consuming. I love watching the amazing makeup artists on YouTube as much as anyone else, but most of those looks aren’t realistic for moms who are running to the grocery store. Today I am going to share with you a fall eye makeup look that will suit any age, and can be achieved with a few simple colors and 5 minutes.
I start by using Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ Multi-Symptom eye drops. I discovered these drops one day when I was shopping in Walgreens, and I love the preservative free formula! They provide up to 12 hours of relief from red, burning, itchy, dry, irritated, gritty or watery eyes, which is generally how my eyes feel when I wake up in the morning. Preservatives are added to drops to ward off bacteria, but they can be irritating to those with sensitive eyes. Other preservative free drops on the market come in wasteful single-dose sizes. Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ Multi-Symptom and Clear Eyes® Pure Relief™ for Dry Eyes both have a proprietary built-in purifying filter that keeps bacteria out, and they come from the #1 selling brand of eyedrops. Choose which formula best suits your needs, and make this the first step of your eye makeup routine for clear and comfortable eyes.
Then I start my makeup with my base and concealer. I set it with some translucent powder, and apply an especially heavy layer of powder under my eyes. This will not only set my concealer, it will catch any fallout from my shadows so I can simply brush it off of my face.
I take a flat eyeshadow brush and apply a light, matte nude color. This helps to set the base and/or concealer on my lids and gives me a nice, neutral base to start with.
Then I take a fluffy blending brush and apply a light, matte tan in my crease. This creates a subtle wash of color that will help to blend the next step.
Next, I take a crease brush and add a shimmery cranberry brown color to the crease. Tap your brush in your shadow, then tap the side of your brush on your finger to avoid excess fallout. Apply in the crease in a windshield-wiper motion. Then, take the fluffy blending brush and blend to the top.
Next I take a smaller, flat eyeshadow brush and apply a deep, matte chocolate brown color to the V and outside of my lid. I pack this on in a couple of layers so there is still some drama after I blend it out. Take the fluffy blending brush and blend into the crease.
Then I take the first flat eyeshadow brush and apply a light peachy shimmer over the inner 1/2 of my lid and blend it into the chocolate brown.
To finish, I take the same flat eyeshadow brush and apply a golden shimmer under my arch for a highlight, and a dab on the inner corner of my eyes. Brush off the powder under your eyes.
I use a plum pencil liner on my lower waterline, and then finish off with a black, marker-style eyeliner to create a subtle wing on my top lashes. Finish off with some mascara, and you’re done!
Start to finish this eye takes me less than 5 minutes. Once you get the routine down you will be whipping through it in no time, too!
