I have a fun project to share with you today! I am going to show you how easy and fun it is to put together a BOO Bundle with items from Walmart, which is a one-stop shop for BOO Bundle essentials!
I wrote a while back about how my mom was facing her second cancer battle in 5 years. I’m happy to report she is now cancer-free, but it took months of radiation and an extremely invasive surgery to get her that way. This surgery has been very physically and emotionally hard on her, and she is facing months of rehabilitation.
My mom and my daughter have always shared a special bond, and my daughter wanted to do something special to cheer her up. A funny fact about my mom is that she loves anything with skulls on it. She is in her 50’s and a professional, so you wouldn’t guess it to look at her, but anything with skulls is a must-have for her collection. My daughter and I put our heads together and came up with a fun, easy project to brighten her day, called a BOO Bundle.
BOO bundles are a fun way, not only to cheer someone up, but encourage the practice of BOO’ing it forward.
What Is A BOO Bundle?
A BOO Bundle is a fun package filled with goodies and creativity that you make, secretly deliver, and then encourage the recipient to do the same! We did this last year, and it’s such a great tradition we decided to do it again this year.
Materials Needed For A BOO Bundle
I was able to find everything for my BOO Bundle at Walmart! They have an awesome Halloween section with everything you will need to put this BOO Bundle together. You can also check shop Walmart.com if shopping online is your thing. I chose a mixed bag of candy featuring SNICKERS® Fun Size, M&M’S® Fun Size, and TWIX® Fun Size as well as a bag of Skittles® Original Fun Size. I could pass up these Sunkist® Orange monster cans* either! I also found these adorable treat bags and stickers by American Greetings® in the card aisle that were too cute to not add to my BOO Bundle. You can get $1 off the Monster cans from Sunkist Orange, Canada Dry™, and A&W® Root Beer from Ibotta here. There is a fun augmented reality app you can check out at www.minimonsters.com that makes the Mini Monsters on the cans come alive, and even interact with each other!
DIY Canvas Skull Bag
I wanted to come up with a creative way to gift this BOO Bundle, but I’m always short on time so it had to be easy. I ended up making this super cute canvas skull bag and it took about 5 minutes! You just need a plain canvas bag, and iron-on transfer paper. Both of these can be found in the craft section.
You just print your design onto the paper, and then iron it onto the bag. I have included a free printable image for you to use below! Just click on the image. If you decide to use another image, keep in mind that the iron-on transfer will be a mirror image, so if there is any text to your design you will want to flip it in editing software before you print it.
Gifting The BOO Bundle
Once you have you items purchased and bag completed, you will want to go to BOOItForward.com to download and print a BOO kit card. This will explain to your recipient why they are being BOO’d and how they can BOO it forward!
We did a “ring and run” by dropping the bag outside my mom’s door and taking off so it would be a surprise.
