Today my birthday weekend continued.
This morning we visited a new church because my sister’s band was playing for the worship portion. It was definitely a new experience coming from a non-traditional, young church, and sitting in an older congregation at a Methodist church. The people were extremely friendly, which was a nice change from our usual church.
And just to warn you, if you go to a church that has something called “The Methodist Mingle” in the bulletin, every single member of the congregation will shake everyone else’s hand.
Then we travelled to a small town for lunch with my grandparents and extended family to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa’s 65th anniversary, and my grandma’s birthday on Tuesday. We ate at a pizza place with a lunch buffet. My mom had made a reservation, but once we started sitting down a waitress approached us and informed us she needed some of our tables to seat other people. She was really rude, and it kind of put a damper on the meal.
After lunch we all walked down to the one cream museum and my grandma treated us to a cone. My husband and nephew were VERY excited as seen in this photo.
They also enjoyed the gift shop.
At the end of the day, it was a nice time spent with family. My grandparents are both in their 80’s, and they are in great health, but we try to enjoy as much time with them as we can.
Hope you had a happy Sunday!
